The Belgians

I finally went to the exhibition “The Belgians” in Brussels. If you didn’t know, a large number of well-known fashion designers are from Belgium -this country is a real nest for creativity. “The Belgians” is a beautiful window to discover all the belgians designers, their story, their creations but also to discover the real love story between Belgium and fashion.

The exhibition is hold at Bozar, a museum in the center of Brussels. This weekend is the last call to go as it ends this sunday, the 13TH.

At every step of the exhibition, we can enjoy stories about the belgians designers, their studies, their universe and also, about the belgian spirit. Something very important, to my point of view, is that belgian designers don’t fear to express their personality in their creations.  That spirit makes them free to create and to build strong and particular universes around their collections. They can be eccentric, minimalist or even classic, they are never boring.

Here are some pictures of the exhibition which was a real festival of colors and styles. Creations of the most well-known designers such as Diane von Furstenberg, Raf Simons, Dries Van Noten, A.f Vandervorst, Olivier Theyskens and many others were reunited :

Something particularly interesting and creative were these boxes that described the visual universe of several designers including Dries Van Noten (to the left), Raf Simons (to the center) and Jean-Paul Lespagnard (to the right).

And to encourage the new generation, the creations of new designers, just out of school ,were also exposed. Belgium is not ready to quit fashion!
